Job summary

Amentum on Diego Garcia seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair a wide range of military vehicles and equipment in support of Air Force, Space Force, AMC, ARTs, and GEODD operations.

The role requires travel, a valid passport, and the ability to obtain visas and meet medical and security requirements for deployment. You will work on NTVE, WHE, MHE, and OHE, performing diagnostics and preventive maintenance, while documenting all activities.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum journeyman maintenance experience on heavy equipment.
• Hands-on bodywork and mechanical repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and brakes.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on NTVE, WHE, MHE, and OHE.
• Repair body, fender, and mechanical systems to keep equipment safe and presentable.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems including engines and hydraulics.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and tune-ups to ensure operational readiness.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain logs and spare parts records.
• Ensure safety and environmental guidelines are followed on all tasks.
• Coordinate sourcing of parts and materials for repairs when needed.
