Job summary

The ideal candidate will work remotely, review clinical documentation, and participate in audits and training to maintain high accuracy and productivity in a compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or related field preferred.
• Active CPC or COC certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years outpatient coding experience across specialties or facility types.
• Proficiency in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding systems.
• Familiarity with outpatient billing processes and payer-specific requirements.
• Experience with EHR systems and encoder software (3M, Optum).
• Knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy standards.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient records and assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes.
• Ensure coding aligns with guidelines, payer rules, and client standards.
• Identify documentation gaps and coordinate with internal teams for clarification.
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity benchmarks.
• Stay updated on outpatient coding standards and compliance requirements.
• Participate in audits, quality assurance, and training sessions.
