Job summary

ADEC Innovations in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Medical Coder to review clinical documentation and accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for professional and facility services. You will ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory standards.

The role requires AHIMA or AAPC certification, 3+ years of coding experience across professional and facility settings, strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and E/M coding, and onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Medical allied field or related healthcare program.
• Active AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA).
• Minimum 3 years of recent medical coding experience in Professional Fee, Outpatient, Facility, ED, ASC, Urgent Care, Surgery, or related areas.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, E/M coding, modifiers, NCCI edits, OPPS, and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, E/M codes and modifiers.
• Review medical records to ensure proper code selection and documentation support.
• Validate medical necessity, charge capture, claim accuracy and reimbursement requirements.
• Research and resolve coding edits, denials, and documentation discrepancies.
• Collaborate with providers, billing teams, and stakeholders to ensure coding compliance and revenue integrity.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while following HIPAA and policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, E/M codes, and modifiers.
• Review medical records to ensure proper code selection, sequencing, and documentation support.
• Validate medical necessity, charge capture, claim accuracy, and reimbursement requirements.
• Research and resolve coding edits, denials, and documentation discrepancies.
• Collaborate with providers, billing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure coding compliance and revenue integrity.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while adhering to HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Medical allied course (e.g., BSN, BSMT, BS Pharmacy, BSRT, BSPT), or any other related healthcare field.
• Active AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA).
• Minimum of 3 years of recent medical coding experience in Professional Fee, Outpatient, Facility, Emergency Department (ED), Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), Urgent Care, Surgery, or related specialties.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, E/M coding, modifiers, NCCI edits, OPPS, and payer guidelines.
• Experience reviewing coding edits, denials, reimbursement methodologies, and revenue cycle processes.
• Experience with EHR and coding platforms such as Epic, 3M Encoder, or similar systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Work onsite, morning shift.
