Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Safety Officer to implement and maintain OSH programs on a construction site, ensuring compliance with government laws and EPC contract requirements. The role involves collaboration with the EPC contractor, project team, and regulators to promote a hazard-free environment.

Education in engineering or nursing with 5+ years of related experience, including 2+ years on projects, is preferred. Strong OSH knowledge and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in BS Engineering or BS Nursing, or any related course.
• At least five years of experience in a related field, with at least two years of project related experience.
• Proficiency in OSH Compliance, OSH Laws and Regulations, and OSH Permits and Licensing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication, project management, analysis, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages the occupational health and safety units through monitoring and validation of activities.
• Regularly reviews OSH standards and communicates with regulators and Legal to avoid violations.
• Ensures renewal of OSH permits and licenses and monitors for penalties.
• Checks effectiveness of OSH programs through inspections and audits.
• Maintains updating OSH activities and reports to management.
• Coordinates with functional teams to address OSH non-compliance issues.
• Prepares OSH Plans, incident reports, and mitigation plans for future programs.
• Analyzes OSH data and recommends action plans.
• Supports government regulator evaluations of the site.
