Job summary

Care Center Clinic in Quezon City seeks an Optical Technician to read prescriptions, select frames and lenses, and take precise measurements to ensure accurate eyewear for every patient.

In this role you will perform lens fabrication and assembly, dispense and adjust eyewear for comfort, and help manage inventory and regulatory compliance to maintain safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Prescription Interpretation & Verification: Read, analyze, and verify written optical prescriptions to ensure accurate selection of lenses, frames, and optical powers.
• Frame & Lens Selection: Consult with patients to choose appropriate frames based on face shape, lifestyle, budget, and functional needs (e.g., progressive, bifocal, anti-reflective, blue-light blocking, or high-index lenses).
• Optical Measurements & Customization: Measure facial and eye parameters—such as pupillary distance (PD), segment height, and vertex distance—to ensure precise alignment of optical centers.
• Lens Fabrication & Assembly (Bench Work): Grind, edge, tint, mount, and finish lens blanks into frames using manual or automated optical edging machines (when working in an optical lab).
• Dispensing, Adjustments & Repairs: Fit finished eyewear onto the patient's face, adjust temple arms and bridge pieces for comfort, and repair broken frames, screws, or nose pads.
• Inventory & Compliance Management: Track stock of frames, lenses, and optical supplies, manage vendor orders, and maintain compliance with optical safety and regulatory standards.
