Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an operator to ensure that the assigned area runs smoothly, hits capacity, and produces high-quality products. The role requires adherence to SOPs, real-time line handshakes with prior shifts, and proactive escalation of issues.

The ideal candidate will maintain certification badges, deliver required output, and ensure downtime/logs are captured in the MES/R8 system. MSC/5S activities and strict safety rules are part of the daily routine.

Responsibilities

• Log downtime, lot history, and MES/R8 transactions in real time.
• Perform MSC/5S activities and follow company rules and safety practices.
• Inform supervisor if unable to report for work.

Also ensures area is properly maintained* Understands and follows the operations specs and SOP’s within his/her function area.* Properly handshakes line status from previous shift.* Responsible for the quality of products and preventing any quality issues in the line. Should always aim for zero lot rejection.* Responsible for handling assigned machines/area and always ensures certification badge is always updated.* Delivers the required output on his/her assigned area/station, making sure that the parameters required for utilization/capacity are achieved.* Escalates/reports any problems encountered in the line to the Supervisor or lead Operator (in the absence of Supervisor) on duty.* Responsible to ensure good set-up and isolation on stations with minor problems like set-up or machine related issues in reference to required OCAP.* Responsible that all machine downtime, lot history, splitting and merging transactions ( as applicable) of lots are being carried out real time including logging on MES/R8 for traceability.* Perform MSC/5S activities as required.* Responsible to inform immediate supervisor if not able to report for work.* Strictly follows company rules and regulations**Requirements/Qualifications:**• Ability to multi-task while paying careful attention to detail • Prior success working both individually and in a team environment • Good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to follow written and verbal direction • Ability to read, comprehend and follow detailed work specifications • Excellent listening skills • Adaptability to frequent change and improvements • Regular and predictable attendance is essential • Ability to wear the required Protective Equipment • Basic computer, math and reading comprehension skills • You must be 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED**Travel Time:**0% - 25%**To all recruitment agencies**: *Microchip Technology Inc. **does not** accept unsolicited agency resumes.
