Position Overview:
The Manila Operating Officer (MOO) is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management of Anatomic LP's Manila production operations at Anatomic Iron Philippines Ltd. This is a senior management position requiring a proven operator who can drive staff performance, instill a culture of quality and accountability, and build strong working relationships with our international client base.
We are seeking an experienced steel detailing and project management professional who understands the local operational environment. The successful candidate may be either a qualified local professional or an expatriate residing in the Philippines. The MOO will serve as the primary operational counterpart to our International Liaison Coordinator, and Anatomic LP’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) ensuring seamless integration, training, process compliance and communication between our Manila production hub and international executive management and ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management
- Oversee all day-to-day project production activities across the steel detailing team in Manila
- Develop, implement and manage all project production schedules to ensure all submittal dates are consistently met with high quality
- Monitor production throughput, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources including detailers, checkers, and support staff
- Implement and maintain project tracking systems to provide real-time visibility on delivery status
- Ensure all staff assignment and reporting systems are up to date, at all times, showing the assigned tasks for each production employee in Manila
Quality Assurance
- Establish and enforce quality control standards across all deliverables including shop drawings, models, and fabrication packages
- Lead internal review and checking processes to minimize rework and client revisions
- Implement corrective action processes when quality issues arise and track resolution
- Maintain compliance with applicable international standards (AISC, AS/NZS, BS, etc.) as required by project location and scope
International Liaison & Client Coordination
- Work closely with the International Liaison Coordinator to align production activities with client expectations and project milestones
- Participate in client meetings, when necessary, especially regarding high impact issues or project difficulties
- Proactively communicate schedule risks, resource constraints, or quality issues to Anatomic’s project managers on all active projects
- Foster strong, trust-based relationships with international project teams and clients
Staff Management & Training
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of steel detailing professionals at our Manila office in Greenhills.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of team leaders and maintain clear KPIs for all production staff and ongoing projects.
- Identify training needs and report to Manila director and HR department to coordinate completion of training.
- Build a strong team culture focused on accountability, craftsmanship, and professional development
- Assist HR and Manila director with recruitment and onboarding of new team members
Strategic Operations
- Contribute to operational strategy and business planning as a key member of the senior leadership team
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, adopt new technologies, and expand team capabilities
- Prepare and present operational reports to the COO, Group Manager, and CEO as required
- Assist finance department with establishing budgets related to production operations, staffing, and training needs.
Qualifications:
Essential
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the steel detailing industry, with at least 5 years in a senior operations or management role
- Proven track record managing production teams (50–100+ employees) in a technical, deadline-driven environment
- Experience working with or managing offshore / outsourced teams
- Strong understanding of steel construction, structural systems, or steel detailing processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — able to engage effectively with both technical staff and international clients
- Fluency in English language
- Currently residing in the Philippines (or able to relocate immediately)
Preferred
- Experience operating in Southeast Asian business environments
- Experience working in structural steel engineering or construction firms
- Capability with steel detailing software such as Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, or SDS/2
- Experience with international steel fabrication standards (AISC, AS/NZS, Eurocode, BS)
- Prior experience as COO, General Manager, Operations Manager, or Production Manager in a steel detailing or structural engineering firm
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
