I. Job Summary
The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Engineer is responsible for managing and supervising the day-to-day operations of solar projects, ensuring maximum performance, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards.
II. General Responsibilities
A. Plant Operations and Performance Monitoring
- Oversees the day-to-day operation of solar project facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
- Monitors project performance using available monitoring tools and operational data to identify issues, inefficiencies, and abnormal system behavior.
- Reviews system alarms, operating parameters, and performance trends to help optimize plant output and availability.
- Coordinates with relevant internal and external stakeholders on plant operational requirements and technical concerns.
- Supports the implementation of operational controls and standard practices to maintain plant reliability.
B. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance
- Performs and supervises preventive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Develops, implements, and monitors maintenance schedules and work plans to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoots equipment and system faults and coordinates timely resolution of technical issues.
- Ensures that maintenance activities are properly carried out in accordance with technical requirements and safety standards.
- Assists in evaluating recurring issues and recommending corrective and preventive measures for continuous improvement.
C. Technical Coordination and Improvement Support
- Coordinates with contractors, vendors, service providers, and equipment suppliers for maintenance, repair, testing, and technical support requirements.
- Provides technical support for equipment upgrades, system retrofits, and plant improvement initiatives.
- Assists in reviewing work scopes, technical findings, and maintenance recommendations from third parties.
- Supports implementation of process improvements that enhance efficiency, reliability, and maintainability of plant systems.
- Works closely with site personnel and other departments to address operational and maintenance concerns.
D. Compliance, Documentation, and Reporting
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company policy requirements during operations and maintenance activities.
- Maintains accurate records of operational data, inspections, maintenance logs, incident reports, and technical findings.
- Prepares and updates standard operating procedures, maintenance records, and other technical documentation as needed.
- Supports reportorial requirements on plant availability, performance, outages, maintenance activities, and incident monitoring.
- Assists during audits, inspections, and management reviews by providing complete and reliable plant records.

IV. Qualifications
- Graduate of Electrical Engineering
- Registered Electrical Engineer
- With at least two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience in plant operations, maintenance, renewable energy, power, utilities, or related technical work
- Experience in solar power systems, renewable energy facilities, or industrial plant operations is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and performance monitoring of electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental requirements related to plant operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic monitoring or reporting tools
- Strong analytical, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Willing to travel or be assigned to project sites as needed
