Responsibilities

We are seeking an Assistant Manager – Ocean Freight (Import & Export) to join EFL Philippines in our Pasay City office. The role is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end ocean freight import and export operations, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and team performance. The Assistant Manager will lead the Ocean Freight team, drive process improvements, support business growth, and collaborate closely with customers, carriers, overseas agents, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders to deliver efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end ocean freight import and export operations.
• Lead and supervise the Ocean Freight team to ensure efficient and timely shipment execution.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of AMS, ISF, and other required shipping documentation in compliance with customs and carrier requirements.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and internal teams.
• Monitor shipment progress, resolve operational issues, and maintain accurate records in CargoWise.
• Monitor operational KPIs, analyze team performance, and implement process improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Oversee invoicing and billing processes to ensure timely and accurate execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of experience in ocean freight operations, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ocean freight operations, shipping documentation, and customs procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; CargoWise experience is an advantage.
• Detail-oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
