JOB OVERVIEW
Responsible for managing and executing all export-related airfreight activities to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely handling of outbound shipments in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle all air export-related enquiries and provide timely support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with shippers on cargo collection arrangements and other export-related matters.
- Liaise with the Sales team and destination offices for airfreight rate establishment and shipment approval.
- Coordinate with the Finance department on shipments involving COD payments or customers exceeding their credit limit.
- Work closely with the Vendor Management team to organize cargo collection with appointed transport vendors.
- Liaise with the Airfreight Planning team to confirm flight schedules and space availability.
- Coordinate with the Import team on shipments requiring re-export arrangements.
- Liaise with the Permit department for export permit applications and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse team on cargo acceptance, release, sorting, packing, and storage requirements.
- Liaise with external vendors for specialized services such as DG (Dangerous Goods) packing, crating, and fumigation.
- Coordinate with the Export Operations team to ensure accurate and timely issuance of shipping instructions.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Good understanding of airfreight operations, documentation, and export procedures.
- Familiar with customs regulations and air cargo processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and freight management systems (CW1, Tango & Workflow System/WFS)
- Strong communication and coordination skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under pressure.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); other languages are an advantage.
- Possess initiative, teamwork spirit, and problem-solving aptitude.
FUNCTION/ BUSINESS ACUMEN
- Demonstrates strong understanding of end-to-end airfreight export processes, including shipment coordination, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Applies knowledge of air export, customs regulations and international trade practices to ensure efficient and compliant shipment execution.
- Understands cross-functional workflows and collaborates effectively with Sales, Finance, Planning, Warehouse, and external vendors to achieve operational excellence.
- Balances service quality, cost efficiency, and operational priorities to meet customer expectations and business objectives.
- Exercises sound judgment in resolving shipment issues and managing exceptions while maintaining compliance and service standards.
- Maintains awareness of market conditions such as freight rates, capacity constraints, and customer requirements to support informed operational decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- IATA Dangerous Goods certification would be beneficial.
- Some training or knowledge in airfreight or export documentation is an added advantage.
EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1–3 years of working experience in airfreight export operations or freight forwarding environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment at 20 Alps Avenue, Airport Logistics Park
WORKING HOURS
- Monday to Friday: 0830hrs to 1730hrs
- Saturday: 0830hrs to 1230hrs (Alternate Saturdays)
Note: Overtime may be required during peak periods or to meet shipment deadlines.
