AboitizPower seeks an experienced Grid Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of a solar photovoltaic power plant. You will drive safe, efficient performance, manage budgets, and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with regulations and agreed service levels.

With a focus on leadership, you will optimize plant reliability, monitor performance, and implement warranty strategies while maintaining strong safety and environmental standards across operations.

Job description

As Grid Manager, you will be responsible for the operation & maintenance of the solar photovoltaic power plant. The primary responsibility of this position is the safe and efficient operation of the facility. Requires diligent execution of maintenance, performance monitoring, and management of risk, cost, and contracted and external services. Assures compliance with all Government regulations and executes work within quality, schedule, and budget objectives and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with internal and external teams to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Monitors daily operations or task management functions as delegated by the VP - O&M, including customer liaison, checking of all operation activities & functions, ensuring preparation and execution of the operation & maintenance plan, and providing valuable insights to ensure efficient O&M.
• Leads in operation meetings and general PV plant operation & maintenance, inspection, management, and coordination, including management of OMC and enforcement of the OMC contract as applicable.
• Control, monitor and report PV plant operation, preventive and corrective maintenance against schedule, plan, and budget related to Asset Management.
• Manage operation and maintenance activities and functions to ensure compliance with the scope of works and quality objectives of all the PV plants, including management of OMC and enforcement of the OMC contract as applicable.
• Manage the solar PV power plant’s budget accordingly to properly execute activities necessary for the O&M of the solar PV power plant.
• Coordinates all technical reviews and improvements with stakeholders and internally within the PV plants.
• Ensures that there is Communications Management in the organization. This involves internal and external communications between support departments, OEMs, and third parties regarding the technical specifications and/or operational requirements of the solar PV power plant.
• Regularly provides clear reports to management and clients.
• Accurate, timely, and effective reporting to the VP - O&M.
• Directs and monitors the implementation of established policies, standards, and guidelines on the safe and efficient operations and maintenance of photovoltaic cells.
• Cascades and initiates review and updates of policies, guidelines, and procedures. It then distributes new policies and procedures to employees.
• Ensures the implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures to protect the health and safety of all plant employees and visitors.
• Manages the risks associated with the safe and efficient operation of a solar PV power plant through thorough reviews of procedures, policies, and guidelines.
• Directs and coordinates the activities of O&M personnel to ensure operations and maintenance progress on schedule and within the prescribed budget. This includes the management of OMC and enforcement of the OMC contract as applicable.
• Ensures the security of all assets in the facility in coordination with the Security team.
• Oversee and manage the warranty process for solar power plant components and equipment.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors to resolve warranty claims and issues.
• Monitor and track warranty periods, claims, and resolutions to ensure timely and effective solutions.
• Develop and implement warranty management strategies to minimize downtime and maximize plant performance.
• Analyze warranty data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and maintenance, to address warranty-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of warranty claims, repairs, and replacements.
• Negotiate with manufacturers and suppliers to secure favorable warranty terms and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with warranty policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Provide regular reports and updates on warranty management activities to senior management.

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

• Has experience in Photovoltaic-Solar Farm
• Has experience in Power Plant operation and maintenance
• Knowledgeable in IMS including ISO 55001
• Knowledgeable in Contract Management and Contract Enforcement

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering
• Bachelor’s Degree with PRC License, preferably PEE
• At least 8 years total experience, five of which should be in power generation.
• Experience in Power Plant operation and maintenance, construction, familiarity with EPC contracts, and construction management of large infrastructure or power plants is preferred.
• At least 3 years of Leadership experience
• With background and experience in maintaining a power plant facility
• Proven experience in Photovoltaic-Solar Farms is considered a plus
• Familiar with EPC contract and construction management of large infrastructure or power plant
