Job summary

Cloudstaff Philippines Inc. is seeking an OAshore Quantity Surveyor to support estimating with detailed quantity take-offs from drawings. You will work with estimators to ensure tender submissions are supported by accurate measurements and timely data.

The role requires strong measurement skills, understanding of construction methodologies, and the ability to meet strict tender deadlines while aligning with CostX workflows.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in quantity surveying or estimating support.
  • Proficiency in CostX or Cubit Estimating and strong measurement accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of drawings, specs, and Australian practices.
  • High attention to detail, analytical and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from civil, architectural, structural and services drawings.
  • Measure and quantify trades including earthworks, demolition, concrete, formwork, masonry, finishes and external works.
  • Review tender docs, drawings, specs and schedules; report discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized measurement records in CostX and update per design revisions.
  • Assist estimators with BOQs and quantity summaries for pricing.
  • Ensure timely delivery of measurements to meet tender deadlines.

Job description

Position Overview

The OAshore Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the estimating function by performing detailed quantity take-offs from civil, architectural, structural, and services drawings. The successful candidate will work closely with estimators to ensure all tender submissions are supported by accurate and timely quantity measurements.


This role requires strong technical measurement skills, a sound understanding of construction methodologies, and the ability to work efficiently within strict tender deadlines.



Key Responsibilities


  • Quantity Take-OAs & Measurement

    • Complete detailed quantity take-oAs for a range of fit-out and construction projects.

    • Measure and quantify trades including:

      • Earthworks

      • Demolition and enabling works

      • Concrete and structural steel works

      • Formwork and reinforcement

      • Masonry and facade elements

      • Partitions, Doors & Windows

      • Finishes and fit-out works

      • External works and landscaping



    • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and schedules.

    • Identify and report drawing discrepancies, omissions, and ambiguities to the estimating team.

    • Maintain organized and traceable measurement records within Cost X.



  • Estimating Support

    • Assist estimators in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

    • Prepare quantity summaries and trade breakdowns for pricing purposes.

    • Update quantities in response to design revisions and tender addenda.

    • Support benchmarking and cost planning exercises by providing accurate quantity data.

    • Assist with subcontractor package preparation where required.



  • Quality Assurance

    • Ensure all measurements comply with company standards and measurement rules.

    • Perform self-checks and peer reviews of take-oAs prior to submission.

    • Maintain consistency across project measurement methodologies.

    • Meet tender deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.



  • Communication & Collaboration

    • Work closely with estimators and pre-construction teams based in Australia.

    • Participate in online meetings and progress reviews as required.

    • Provide regular updates on workload, progress, and outstanding information requirements.





Skills & Experience


  • Essential

    • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

    • Minimum 3 years' experience in quantity surveying, estimating support, or quantity take-oA roles.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in Cost X/ Cubit Estimating.

    • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and Australian construction practices.

    • High attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Strong analytical and numerical skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft OAice Suite.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.



  • Desirable

    • Experience supporting Australian building projects.

    • Exposure to commercial, residential, health, education, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

    • Understanding of Australian Standard Method of Measurement (ASMM) or equivalent.

    • Experience with BIM-based measurement processes.



  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Accuracy of quantity take-oAs.

    • Turnaround time for measurement requests.

    • Compliance with tender program deadlines.

    • Quality and consistency of Cost X workbooks.

    • Reduction of quantity-related tender risks and omissions.

    • EAective communication and responsiveness to the estimating team.
