Providence Hospital, Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapist (Reliever) to provide temporary clinical coverage for regular therapy staff across outpatient and inpatient settings. You will evaluate patient capabilities, implement existing treatment plans, and maintain high care standards during leaves or peak periods.
You will document progress in EHR, endorse care to returning staff, and guide caregivers on home programs while ensuring a safe therapy environment.
The Occupational Therapist (Reliever) provides temporary clinical coverage for regular therapy staff during leaves, rest days, or peak patient volume. This role ensures uninterrupted patient rehabilitation services by evaluating capabilities, executing existing treatment plans, and maintaining high standards of care across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Execute prescribed occupational therapy programs for assigned patients, ensuring treatment plans are seamlessly maintained in the primary therapist's absence
Conduct functional assessments for incoming cases and lead therapeutic activities to improve fine motor skills, cognitive function, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Assist patients with the fit, use, and adjustment of splints, adaptive tools, and mobility aids during sessions
Document session notes, patient response to therapy, and vital signs accurately in Electronic Health Records (EHR) or patient charts; deliver clear shift endorsements to returning regular staff
Guide caregivers on home exercise programs and ensure a safe, sanitized environment in the therapy area
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
Professional License: Registered Occupational Therapist (PRC License required)
Open to Fresh Graduates / Entry-Level Candidates; clinical internship experience in hospital, pediatric, or rehab settings is a strong advantage
High adaptability, strong clinical decision-making skills, and the ability to step smoothly into ongoing patient cases
Flexibility to work on-call, on shifting schedules, or during weekend coverages
