Job summary

UERM Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines is seeking qualified Occupational Therapists to join its rehabilitation department on a part-time basis. You will assess patients, plan individualized therapy, and perform prescribed rehabilitation procedures to support recovery.

You will document findings, communicate with physicians, educate patients and families, and maintain treatment tools while observing safety and confidentiality standards. Start ASAP with flexible part-time hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, OTRP.
• At least six (6) months of clinical experience.
• Good communication & organizational skills; pleasant personality; computer-literate; able to work under pressure; confidential.
• Five part-time positions available.
• CAN START ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient’s physical, communication, cognitive and emotional abilities to determine their needs and limitations, and develop individualized treatment plan accordingly.
• Performs rehabilitation procedures as prescribed by Rehabilitation doctors.
• Provides information to the patient and/or family about the proposed intervention, its risks and benefits and alternatives.
• Records assessment, findings, treatment plan, patient’s response, and progress in the patient’s chart.
• Evaluates the effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to maximize benefit.
• Educates the patient and family about treatment procedures and discharge instructions.
• Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information; notes revisions in treatment program.
• Conducts proper maintenance of OT assessment and treatment tools and equipment.
• Adheres to safety precautions and infection control standards.
• Ensures confidentiality and security of data per Patient Privacy Act.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Assesses patient’s physical, communication, cognitive and emotional abilities to determine their needs and limitations, and develop individualized treatment plan accordingly.

• Performs rehabilitation procedures as prescribed by Rehabilitation doctors.

• Provides information to the patient and/or family/relative about the proposed intervention, its material and inherent risks and expected benefits and other reasonable alternatives.

• Records assessment, findings, treatment plan, patient’s response, and progress in the patient’s chart to keep track of the status of the patient.

• Evaluates the effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.

• Educates the patient and family about treatment procedures to be done and discharge instructions.

• Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information; notes/ suggests revisions in treatment program, and integrates occupational therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.

• Conducts proper maintenance of OT assessment and treatment tools and other apparatus of the Department.

• Adheres to proper safety precautions and infection prevention and control set by the Medical Center.

• Ensures confidentiality and security of data, compliant with the requirements of the Patient Privacy or Confidentiality Act.
