Job summary

BMG Outsourcing, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to own NZ-focused accounting, payroll, and compliance from a remote location. You will implement chart of accounts, tax codes, reporting structures, and automation for a New Zealand entity.

You will manage month-end close, reconciliations, management reporting, budgeting, and intercompany interfaces, while ensuring NZ GST, PAYE, KiwiSaver, ACC compliance and strong internal controls across banking and finance systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce required.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Hands-on NZ accounting and/or payroll experience is highly desirable.
• Strong month-end close, reconciliations, and management reporting skills.
• Working knowledge of NZ GST, PAYE, KiwiSaver, and ACC.

Responsibilities

• Lead NZ accounting and payroll system setup, including COA, tax codes, reporting structures, bank feeds, controls, automation.
• Own month-end close activities: reconciliations, journals, fixed assets, leases, intercompany, payroll liabilities.
• Prepare management accounts, consolidated reporting, KPIs, variance commentary, and budgets/reforecasts.
• Manage NZ GST, PAYE/payday filing, KiwiSaver, ACC, and payroll obligations.
• Oversee banking, cash-flow reporting/forecasting, supplier payments, and internal controls; coordinate with COO, auditors, tax advisers, banks, and software providers.

Join BMG Outsourcing as a Senior Accountant and take ownership of core finance operations for a New Zealand entity, supporting accounting, payroll, NZ compliance, financial reporting, banking, internal controls, budgeting, and finance-system improvement.

Location: Remote
Work Setup: WFH
Schedule: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM PHT
Employment: Full-Time
Salary: PHP 90,000 – 110,000

What You'll Do:

• Lead NZ accounting and payroll system setup, including chart of accounts, tax codes, reporting structures, bank feeds, controls, finance-system improvements, and automation.
• Own month-end close activities, including balance-sheet reconciliations, journals, fixed assets, leases, intercompany accounts, and payroll liability reconciliations.
• Prepare management accounts, consolidated reporting, club-level KPIs, and variance commentary, while supporting budgets, reforecasts, and new-club financial models.
• Manage NZ GST, PAYE/payday filing, KiwiSaver, ACC, and statutory compliance requirements, including employment-related payroll obligations.
• Manage banking, cash-flow reporting and forecasting, supplier payments, and payment settlements, while maintaining internal controls, audit schedules, and compliance calendars; partner with the COO, operations, auditors, tax advisers, banks, and software providers to support finance operations and process improvements.

What We're Looking For:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience is preferred, with demonstrated senior-level ownership.
• Hands-on New Zealand accounting and/or payroll experience.
• Strong experience in month-end close, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Working knowledge of NZ GST, PAYE/payday filing, KiwiSaver, ACC, and employment-related payroll requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Clear English communication skills for working with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Preferred / Advantage: NZ entity/accounting or payroll system setup experience; multi-entity, intercompany, and FX experience; CPA/CA qualification; multi-site retail, fitness, or hospitality experience.
• Technical Skills & Software: Xero: Required experience or comparable accounting-system experience; MYOB: Required experience or comparable accounting-system experience; Employment Hero/KeyPay: Required experience or comparable payroll-system experience; Deputy: Required experience or comparable payroll/workforce-management-system experience; Advanced Excel: Required; NZ GST, PAYE/payday filing, KiwiSaver, and ACC: Required working knowledge; Accounting and payroll system setup, reporting structures, bank feeds, controls, and automation: Relevant experience required.
