Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Medication Dispensing Nurse to accurately collect and handle patient samples, administer medications, and monitor vital signs at ARTS clinics in Denver, Arvada, and Aurora. The role requires a valid LPN/RN license and experience with medication-assisted treatment.

The position involves rotating schedules, occasional Saturday shifts, and adherence to DEA/state regulations while supporting MAT and nurse programs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of nursing, nursing assistance, dispensing medication, or related experience.
Additional education substitutes for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Must hold a valid LPN or RN license with Colorado DORA.

Responsibilities

Assess patients for appropriateness of treatment.
Assess needs for physical exams and report to physicians/counselors.
Administer medications including methadone, Suboxone, Naltrexone, Antabuse, and extended-release naltrexone.
Transport narcotics per DEA/state/federal rules and ARTS policies (lock box included).
Monitor vital signs and health condition for each patient.
Draw blood, obtain test results, and administer TB tests.
Assess adverse reactions and overdose-related issues.
Handle infectious materials per policy and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by Program Director of MAT and Nurse Programs.
