Job summary

True North Insights in the Philippines is seeking a Staff Full-Stack Engineer to own a web-based database app, linking experts with clients. You will design, build, and support backend services in Java/Spring, manage data models, and craft responsive front-end features.

Expect collaboration with Product and Operations, strong autonomy, and a path to mentoring and hiring. The role requires deep backend experience, AWS deployment know-how, and excellent English communication, with a night shift

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field (preferred).
• Typically 8+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent Staff-level impact.
• Deep experience with backend development and database-driven apps.
• Strong Java skills with Spring/Spring Boot.
• Relational database design, data modeling, and SQL proficiency.
• Experience deploying and operating in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of major product features from design to production support.
• Build backend services using Java and Spring; maintain data models and queries.
• Develop front-end features with production-grade quality and AI-assisted tooling.
• Collaborate with Product/Ops to optimize workflows and ROI.
• Participate in incident response, monitoring, and production reliability improvements.
• Mentor engineers and participate in hiring as the team grows.
