Job summary

Centrics Networks Pte Ltd. Cebu City recruits a Network Security Engineer to plan, design, and implement security solutions for clients, onsite or remotely. You install and configure devices, document topologies, and perform routine maintenance to keep networks secure.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in IT/engineering, CCNA, and at least 1 year in network roles. Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point and Sophos is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field.
• At least 1 year of network-related experience.
• CCNA certification required.
• Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point and Sophos.
• Experience with Cisco, HPE, Juniper, Aruba, Dell and Ruckus is a plus.
• Willing to work after hours during migrations.
• Strong troubleshooting and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement network security solutions onsite or remotely.
• Install and configure network and security devices.
• Document network configurations with IPs, topologies, and versions.
• Perform routine maintenance including firmware updates and patch management.
• Monitor network infrastructure and security events daily.
• Respond to alerts and incidents to minimize disruptions.
• Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with teams to resolve problems within SLA.
• Escalate incidents when needed and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain records of incidents, changes, and resolutions.
• Be part of 24x7 standby rotation and handle after-hours escalation.
• Attend vendor-sponsored training to keep product knowledge updated.

Job description

• Responsible for planning, designing, and implementing network security solutions that meet client requirements, whether onsite or remotely.
• Responsible for installing and configuring network & security devices such as routers, firewalls, switches, wireless controllers, access points, etc.
• Responsible to document network configurations, including IP addresses, network topologies, and hardware and software versions.
• Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and configuration changes.
• Perform daily monitoring for network infrastructure and security issues using network management tools and systems.
• Monitor network security events and respond to potential threats.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, diagnose problems, and take corrective actions to minimize network disruptions.
• Investigate network issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with other teams to resolve network and security issues, ensuring resolution within SLA.
• Escalate critical incidents to higher-level support or specialized teams as needed and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain comprehensive records of network incidents, changes, and resolutions for future reference and reporting.
• A member of a team of engineers that performs 24x7 standby duties on a rotational basis.
• Handle after office hours escalation, if necessary, either onsite or remote.
• Required to attend vendor-sponsored training to ensure that product knowledge and skills are always updated.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or other IT-related courses.
• Strong knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SDWAN)
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in network-related roles is required for this position.
• CCNA certification is required.
• Experience in Networking Security solutions such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and Sophos is required.
• Experience in Networking solutions such as Cisco, HPE, Juniper, Aruba, Dell, and Ruckus is an advantage.
• Willing to work after normal office hours during migration windows and project implementations.
• Able to communicate confidently and effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
