Job summary

Octal Philippines Inc. is seeking a senior network engineer in Metro Manila with 10+ years of enterprise experience to lead design, validation, and maintenance of our networks.

You will ensure reliable routing, security, and 24/7 readiness while collaborating with project teams. You will work with Cisco, Juniper, and Huawei gear, implement SD-WAN and cloud connectivity, develop documentation, and mentor a team of engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 10+ years hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.
• 2+ years leading a network engineering team.
• Extensive experience with Cisco/Juniper/Huawei technologies.
• Current Cisco/Juniper certifications (e.g. CCNP).
• Experience with routing protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLAN, VPN, QoS, MPLS.
• Strong knowledge of network security: firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs.
• Willingness to acquire new certifications as required.
• Preferred cloud networking experience (AWS/Azure/GCP); SD-WAN experience.
• Preferred data center tech exposure (cooling, power, access).

Responsibilities

• Provide complete lifecycle support for enterprise network assets
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve hardware, software and network issues
• Design and implement enterprise-wide network solutions
• Legacy LAN, WAN integration and current SD-WAN and cloud connectivity technologies
• Lead large complex network transformation projects and migration initiatives
• Develop and maintain network security frameworks adhering to industry best practices
• Create and maintain network documentation, policies and procedures
• At times participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical network issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network capabilities with project objectives
• Work with client representatives to best address current network requirements and cyber related issues
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards
• Manage and mentor a team of network engineers
• Stay updated and conduct training with employees on network security threats

Requirements

• Current Cisco/Juniper certification (e.g. CCNP, CISSP, PMP)
• Extensive experience with networking routing protocols and technologies
• (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLAN, VPN, QoS, CG-NAT, PPPoe, MPLS, SDH, xDSL)
• Strong knowledge of network security principles and technologies

• Preferred experience in network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible)
