Job summary

The Nudge Group is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to own and drive the Australian carrier-grade network from the Philippines. You’ll configure, test and deploy changes to routers, switches and firewalls, and write Ansible playbooks to move toward config-as-code.

This is a primarily remote, IC role with quarterly onsite work in Makati. Expect to collaborate with leadership, manage BNG/subscriber sessions, and deliver costed recommendations during maintenance windows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on telco/ISP network experience.
• Proficient with Ansible for network devices.
• Expertise in BGP, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, VXLAN, EVPN.
• Ability to make recommendations to leadership.
• Based within 2-3 hours of Makati

Responsibilities

Job description

Amazing opportunity to work for an Australian wholesale telco running its own ASN and carrier-grade infrastructure, carrying NBN, business internet and voice services for hundreds of Australian MSPs.

We are looking for a Network Engineer to own the direction of that network, not to manage a team, but to be the technical peer who plans the change, gets in the CLI, and makes it happen. This is a hands‑on IC role. You'll still be the one writing the playbook and cutting the change at 2am, not handing a design to someone else to build.

What you'll be doing

What you need

• Current or recent hands‑on experience inside a telco, ISP or carrier network, enterprise‑only backgrounds won't transfer here, and this is screened hard
• Ansible automation you've personally written for network devices, playbooks, roles, inventory, idempotency
• Deep routing and switching: BGP, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, VXLAN, eVPN
• The confidence to put a recommendation in front of leadership and defend it
• Based within 2-3 hours of Makati (there's a serviced office there)
