The Principal Network Administrator serves as the backbone of IT operations, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of all enterprise network and server systems. This role designs, configures, and secures physical, virtual, and cloud-based network environments to reliably support core business applications and daily operational continuity.
Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Plan, configure, and install core network hardware, physical/virtual servers, and cloud resources across all operational sites.
Network Security Implementation: Configure firewalls, VPNs, and access control policies to secure perimeter defenses and internal network segments.
Proactive Monitoring & Maintenance: Track infrastructure health, link capacity, and performance using network diagnostic tools to prevent outages and optimize bandwidth.
Troubleshooting & Downtime Mitigation: Perform rapid root-cause analysis on connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, backup failures, and hardware faults to restore services swiftly.
Cloud Resource Optimization: Oversee cloud infrastructure configurations (AWS, Azure, GCP) to maintain security, high availability, and cost efficiency.
Vendor & ISP Management: Coordinate with external telecom providers and technology vendors to manage internet lines, hardware acquisitions, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Education: Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in network administration, server maintenance, or system support.
Certifications: CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking certification (CCNA is a plus).
Core Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in TCP/IP, OSI layers, routing/switching (OSPF, BGP, VLANs), subnetting, and firewall administration.
Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, PRTG, Nagios, NetFlow).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose client-side, server-side, and ISP connectivity issues.
High adaptability and organizational skills to manage network projects and support rapid technical resolutions.
