Job summary

Dyson in the Philippines is seeking a Motor Drives Engineer to join the MDAC team within Power Systems. You will apply your expertise in electrical machines design, modeling, and power electronics to deliver motor drives solutions for next generation Dyson technologies.

Working with a cross-disciplinary team, you will develop, verify, and optimize motor control algorithms, document requirements, review test results, and support production end-of-line testing and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics or Mechatronics.
• Knowledge of electrical machines, motor control, power electronics, and sensing tech.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and SPICE tools for motors.
• Knowledge of FEA and programming in C, Python, LabVIEW or embedded coder tools.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to use lab equipment for precise measurements.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and implementation of motor control algorithms in product and production as per project plan.
• Document motor control requirements, design guides, test methods and Change Requests.
• Review system verification results and provide feedback.
• Support design, commissioning and troubleshooting of complex production end-of-line test, tune, and calibration systems.
• Perform data analysis on production datalog and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Perform root cause analysis with documentation for field returns from MDAC perspective.
• Collaborate with Dyson Operations teams for design, commissioning and troubleshooting of production tests and equipment.
• Be adaptable to other areas of work to benefit the wider team.
