Job summary

Metro Container Corporation is seeking a Mold Maker to fabricate, assemble, install, and modify molds used for plastic container production. The role requires reading engineering drawings, performing mold changeover, and coordinating with Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance teams.

You should have at least 1 year of experience in mold making or similar, and experience with plastic injection molding is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of working experience as a Mold Maker, Mold Technician, Tool and Die Technician, or similar position.
• Experience in plastic injection molding is highly preferred.
• Experience handling molds for plastic containers, bottles, caps, closures, or similar plastic products is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and capable of handling molds, tools, and equipment safely.
• Willing to work on a shifting schedule, overtime, weekends, or holidays when required.
• Able to work effectively with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and modify molds used for plastic container production.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and repair of molds.
• Troubleshoot mold-related problems such as flash, short shots, warping, dimensional defects, and uneven molding.
• Conduct mold fitting, polishing, grinding, drilling, milling, and other machining operations as required.
• Check and maintain mold components, including cores, cavities, inserts, ejector pins, slides, guide pins, bushings, and cooling channels.
• Perform mold changeover, installation, alignment, and removal from injection molding machines.
• Inspect molds for wear, damage, cracks, corrosion, and other conditions that may affect production quality.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, mold drawings, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance teams regarding mold performance and production issues.
• Make necessary mold adjustments to improve product quality and machine efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of mold repairs, preventive maintenance, modifications, and replacement parts.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and identification of molds and mold components.
• Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and good housekeeping practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or department head.
