Job summary

Hocheng Philippines Corporation (HCG) in Cavite seeks a Molding Supervisor to oversee mold development and daily unit operations, including new product development, prototype and block mold fabrication, mold inspection, testing, production support, and team supervision.

The role ensures that mold development activities meet quality, safety, production, and process requirements while supporting continuous improvement of existing products. Strong cross-department collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• College graduate with ceramic engineering or related engineering degree.
• 2–5 years of experience in production manufacturing.
• Preferably residing in Cavite or nearby areas.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily Mold Development Unit operations and manpower.
• Develop new products by fabricating prototypes and block molds.
• Prepare equipment and tools for prototype/mold fabrication.
• Provide block molds for test casting and Mother Mold patterns.
• Coordinate sample evaluation with QA, Casting and other departments.
• Supervise mold fabrication, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Support casting operations with mold adjustments.
• Monitor thickness verification of products during production.
• Maintain equipment condition, material availability, and unit requirements.
• Prepare reports including material consumption and mold inspection checklists.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, QMS, 8S, safety, and housekeeping.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain clean work area.

Job Description

• Supervise daily operations, manpower allocation, work assignments, schedules, and activities of the Mold Development Unit.


• Develop new products through the fabrication of prototype and block molds and support continuous improvement of existing product designs.


• Prepare and check required equipment, materials, and tools for prototype and block mold fabrication.


• Provide block molds for test casting and as patterns for Mother Mold fabrication.


• Monitor new product development from test casting through firing and coordinate sample evaluation with relevant departments.


• Supervise and provide technical guidance on mold fabrication, repair, adjustments, inspection, and troubleshooting.


• Support casting operations by coordinating mold adjustments and addressing mold-related production issues.


• Perform thickness verification of existing and newly developed products during production.


• Monitor equipment condition, preventive maintenance, material availability, and operational requirements of the unit.


• Prepare required reports and documentation, including material consumption, mold inspection checklists, production, and accomplishment reports.


• Ensure compliance with SOPs, Quality Management System (QMS), 8S, safety, and housekeeping standards.


• Coordinate with QA, Casting, Production, and other departments for product testing, mold development, and process improvement activities.


• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and promote safe work practices within the unit.


• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
