Job summary

Umpisa Inc. in the Philippines is seeking a Middleware Administrator to design, install, and support middleware on Linux and IBM AIX.

You will work within a self-organizing Scrum team and collaborate with development, infrastructure, and application support to deliver reliable middleware services. The role requires hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Traffic Director, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Tomcat, JBOSS/WildFly, Control-M, MOVEit, and strong scripting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years in Middleware Admin/Engineering or related infrastructure support.
• Hands-on with middleware: WebLogic, Oracle products, Tomcat, JBOSS, MOVEit, and more.
• Experience on Linux and IBM AIX operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and tuning.
• Experience supporting Development, Test, UAT, Production environments.
• Familiarity with deployment, release management, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience creating container build scripts and deployments.
• Knowledge of virtualization and VM/infrastructure provisioning.
• Understanding middleware architecture and integration connectivity.
• Scripting knowledge (Bash, Shell, Python) is a plus.
• Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and builds middleware technologies on Linux and/or AIX platforms.
• Builds and supports Middleware Technologies (Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Traffic Director, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Apache Tomcat, JBOSS/WildFly, Control-M, MOVEit, etc.).
• Installations of Software & Binary packages and upgrades Middleware.
• Provides technical support of Development, Test and Production environments.
• Provides input for middleware technologies design standards.
• Supports the installation of application releases into Test environments, including delivery of container build scripts.
• Provides input to low-level designs.
• Identifies issues affecting customer service and resolves them.
• Provides build requirements for VMs and/or server set-up.
• Contributes to the development of documentation and standards.
• Migrates Middleware Infrastructure to new versions and support the migration of applications by development teams.
• Provides inputs in estimating project builds.
• Liaises with application teams regarding Middleware connectivity issues.

• Ability to contribute to technical documentation, operational standards, and low-level solution designs.
• Experience supporting middleware migration and platform upgrade initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, and application support teams.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell, Python, or similar) is an advantage.
