About the role
We are hiring three mid-level software engineers to form the core of our new Baguio development team. This is a hands-on product engineering role for developers who can independently own meaningful features, learn unfamiliar systems quickly, and work closely with teammates in the same office. The work may involve cloud services, APIs, databases, third-party integrations, web or mobile applications, edge software, and physical RFID equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Build, test, document, deploy, and support production software.
- Develop features that may span APIs, backend services, databases, integrations, edge applications, and user interfaces.
- Integrate with third-party commerce, inventory, and operational platforms using APIs, webhooks, imports, exports, and synchronization jobs.
- Work with PostgreSQL and other data systems while protecting data accuracy and performance.
- Debug issues across code, logs, databases, cloud infrastructure, local networks, and connected RFID hardware.
- Write automated tests and verify that features work in realistic environments before considering them complete.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, planning, and technical documentation.
- Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and similar tools to assist with development, testing, investigation, and refactoring.
- Provide clear progress updates and communicate questions, uncertainty, or blockers early.
- Support released features and follow problems through to their root cause instead of stopping when the code is merged.
About you
- Typically 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent evidence that you can independently deliver production-quality work.
- Strong working ability in at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, or C++.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new languages, frameworks, codebases, and technical domains quickly.
- Experience building or consuming REST APIs and working with SQL-backed applications.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.
- Familiarity with Docker, Git, automated testing, code review, and Linux or command-line environments.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud platform, or enough related experience to become productive quickly.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to break a feature into manageable tasks and work independently once the goal and constraints are clear.
- Professional English for technical discussions, meetings, documentation, and written updates.
