Job summary

Good Neighbors in the Philippines is seeking a project officer responsible for implementing the Wheels to Work Project. You will recruit beneficiaries, assess and process loans, and handle collections and documentation to ensure proper loan utilization.

The role requires leadership for staff and community mobilization, with focus on portfolio management and sustaining development initiatives. Strong basic math skills and knowledge of group formation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cooperatives/Cooperative Management/Entrepreneurship/Marketing or Microfinance (preferred but not required)
• Relevant experience in the same field is highly desirable
• Work experience in an International NGO is an advantage
• Strong discipline in loan processing, collection of payment and savings mobilization
• Knowledgeable in group formation and community organizing
• Able to conduct simple training for group strengthening
• Leadership skills for staff management and community mobilization
• Basic math and analytical skills to understand the story behind the numbers
• Basic office management skill
• Conduct of basic group operation and financial audit

• Promote and implement the Wheels to Work Project
• Recruit beneficiaries for the project
• Conduct loan assessment, processing and collection
• Document loan transactions and portfolio activities
• Ensure proper loan utilization and savings mobilization
• Maintain strong community partnerships and monitor market conditions
• Support community development initiatives and staff training
