Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for MEFPS works based on approved plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Review and analyze MEFPS shop drawings, design revisions, and variations for cost impact.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost breakdowns, and supporting documents.
- Monitor and control MEFPS project costs, including budget tracking and cost forecasting.
- Evaluate and verify progress billings, variations, and claims from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of MEFPS subcontractor bids and quotations.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Procurement, and Accounting regarding quantities, costing, and billing concerns.
- Ensure accuracy of quantities for change orders, additional works, and value engineering proposals.
- Maintain updated cost records, quantity databases, and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with contract provisions, company policies, and project requirements.
- Prepare cost reports and updates for management as required.
- May perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any related course.
- At least 2–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Engineer handling MEFPS works.
- Strong knowledge of MEFPS systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting MEFPS plans and technical drawings.
- Skilled in cost estimating, quantity take-off, and budget control.
- Proficient in MS Excel, estimating software, and basic construction management tools.
- Good coordination, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Willing to be assigned to project sites if required.
