ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Onsite Operations Manager. The Medical Technologist (Onsite) at TeleCure Medical and Diagnostic Center is essential for delivering high-quality, safe diagnostic services directly to clients during mobile healthcare deployments, including corporate Annual Physical Exams (APEs) and community health caravans. While based out of the Malolos main office, this dynamic role primarily operates in the field. You will be responsible for high-volume phlebotomy, onsite specimen processing, secure cold-chain transport of biological samples, and maintaining strict laboratory safety protocols in fast-paced, non-traditional clinical settings. This role ensures all field laboratory practices comply with Republic Act No. 5527 (The Philippine Medical Technology Act of 1969).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Onsite Phlebotomy & Specimen Collection

• Perform efficient, high-volume blood extractions and collect other biological specimens (e.g., urine, stool, swabs) from patients during corporate APEs and health caravans.
• Ensure strict adherence to patient identification and specimen labeling protocols in fast-paced, high-traffic field environments to prevent mix-ups.
• Provide clear instructions to patients regarding proper specimen collection to preserve integrity and ensure accurate diagnostic results.

Field Diagnostics, Processing, & Transport

• Perform onsite examinations of tissues, secretions, and body fluids using approved mobile laboratory techniques and rapid test kits, as required by the deployment.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain mobile laboratory instruments (e.g., portable centrifuges) at deployment sites to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Properly process, centrifuge (when necessary), and prepare collected specimens for safe transit.
• Manage the cold-chain transport of biological samples from the field location back to the main laboratory, ensuring no degradation of specimen quality.

Quality Assurance

• Implement and monitor laboratory quality control procedures even in mobile setups to ensure test reliability.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance and proficiency testing programs.
• Maintain proper documentation of all onsite collections, rejected specimens, and field test results for regulatory compliance and accreditation.

Field Biosafety and Infection Control

• Adapt and strictly adhere to biosafety and infection control protocols in non-clinical environments (e.g., corporate offices, community halls).
• Manage the safe containment, transport, and disposal of biohazardous materials and sharps generated during onsite deployments.

Professional Development & General Support

• Participate in continuing education, seminars, and professional organizations to stay abreast of advances in medical technology.
• Maintain compliance with licensing requirements and professional standards. Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science.

Experience: 1 year Medical Technology (Preferred).

Licenses & Certifications: Medical Technologist with a valid PRC license.

Skills & Attributes:

• Proficient in high-volume phlebotomy and standard laboratory procedures relevant to mobile clinic services.
• Knowledgeable in quality control, specimen handling, cold-chain transport, and field laboratory safety.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to various client sites (corporate offices, community centers) for onsite deployments.
• Adaptability to work in fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes high-pressure mobile field environments.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary mobile healthcare team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to safely lift and carry laboratory equipment boxes, portable centrifuges, and specimen coolers during travel to and from onsite locations.
