Job summary

Virtual Construction Assistants is seeking a Mechanical/HVAC Takeoff Assistant to work full-time, Monday to Friday, during US hours. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with mechanical/HVAC takeoffs and a strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

This role requires high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple takeoff assignments independently. Proficiency in estimating software and project management platforms is essential.

Mechanical/HVAC Takeoff Assistant

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | US hours

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical/HVAC construction drawings and blueprints
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for sheet metal, ductwork, and associated piping systems
• Capture granular scope items including air outlets, fire/smoke dampers, and other mechanical components
• Produce accurate material quantities to support estimating and bidding efforts
• Manage takeoffs across multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining consistency and completeness
• Ensure no gaps or missed items in scope coverage

Qualifications

• Proven experience performing mechanical/HVAC takeoffs
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical construction drawings
• High attention to detail, particularly in quantity accuracy and scope completeness
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple takeoff assignments independently

Tools and Software
