Hitachi Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an international team focused on Oil Type Distribution Transformers up to 35 MVA and Dry Type Transformers up to 10 MVA. You will prepare customer documents, drawings, and BOMs, and coordinate design activities with factories worldwide.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will join an international team specializing in the design of Oil Type Distribution Transformers (up to 35 MVA, 66 kV Class) and Dry Type Transformers (up to 10 MVA, 33 kV Class). Your primary responsibilities will include preparing customer documentation, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials. You will coordinate design activities across a global network of factories and actively participate in internal design concept reviews.

Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
2-7 years of experience in mechanical design within the distribution or power transformer manufacturing industry (candidates with greater experience are also considered).
Solid understanding of IS, IEC, and IEEE standards.
Knowledge of clearance/creepage, basic layout, and cleats lead arrangement.
Experience in winding design is an advantage.
Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, Inventor, CATIA) and FEA tools.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and related tools is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to collaborate with technical teams globally.
Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
