Qualifications

• M.E / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 0–2 years of mechanical design experience in distribution/ dry transformer manufacturing, higher experience considered.
• Proficiency in CAD software and 3D modelling; Creo is a plus.
• Understanding of transformer design, mechanical calculations, dielectrics, clearance/creepage, and layout basics.
• Knowledge of IS/ IEC / IEEE standards; Canadian standards is a plus.
• Experience in winding design / tank & externals is advantageous.
• Experience in simulation or software development is beneficial.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Generate active parts, windings, tank & externals meeting factory limits and guidelines per IEEE/ IEC/ IS standards.
• Prepare customer documents, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and submit per project schedule.
• Coordinate design activities across a global factory network; participate in design reviews.
• Understand transformer mechanical design, thermal, dielectrics, short circuit, and sound performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.

How you’ll make an impact

The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in Dry Type Distribution transformer up to 10 MVA 33 kV Class design covering different countries. Responsible to generate active part and windings/ Tank & Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards. Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc & submission to customer as per project schedule. Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network. Participation in internal design concept reviews. Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference. Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world. Your background

Your background M.E / M.Tech Mechanical Engineering. 0–2 years Experienced working in Mechanical Design for Distribution Dry transformer manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered. Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo is considered as an advantage. Should understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement. Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards & Canadian Standards Experience in winding design / Tank & externals is an advantage Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous. Experience on Microsoft office and tools. Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world. Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
