Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an international team focused on Oil Type Distribution Transformers up to 35 MVA and Dry Type Transformers up to 10 MVA. You will prepare customer documents, drawings, and BOMs, and coordinate design activities with factories worldwide.

You will contribute to design reviews, foster collaboration across regions, and uphold safety and integrity in all actions within a Global Engineering Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–7 years of experience in mechanical design within transformer manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of IS, IEC, and IEEE standards.
• Experience with CAD software (Creo, Inventor, CATIA) and FEA tools.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer documentation, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials.
• Coordinate design activities across a global network of factories.
• Participate in internal design concept reviews.
• Collaborate with technical teams across regions and promote teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Hitachi Energy values.
