Job summary

ABB in the Philippines is seeking a Licensed Mechanical Engineer to act as a design authority for CAD projects with low to medium complexity. You will perform assignments on small projects and apply design for manufacturing concepts.

Hybrid work model and collaboration with Global Ehouse Team and GET. You will support testing, installation, and commissioning activities, and assist in preparing proposals and design verifications.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer with a valid PRC license in the Philippines.
  • 3–5 years in CAD engineering within the electrical industry.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, Revit, AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Experience in GA/Assembly Layout design and DFM.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques.
  • Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects.
  • Utilizing checklists to perform design verification according to standards.

This position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the ELDS/GSC/GET in ABB Inc. Philippines.

Main stakeholders are Global Ehouse Team, GET

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments.
  • Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects.
  • Utilizing checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
Qualifications For The Role
  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer with a valid professional license in the Philippines.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CAD Engineering within the Electrical Industry.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Experienced in 2D/3D modeling, design development, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Strong expertise in General Arrangement (GA) and Assembly Layout design, including simulation, rendering, and animation from LOD100 to LOD400.
  • Knowledgeable in Process Engineering and technical documentation, including engineering specifications, installation guides, and work instructions.
  • Experience in eHouse design and manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving skills, with fluency in English and Tagalog.
