Job summary

Marcbilt Contruction Inc. in the Philippines is seeking a Materials Engineer to ensure concrete and asphalt materials meet project specifications and quality criteria.

You will design and approve JMF, implement QCP, supervise lab testing, and ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DPWH and local regulations. As a Materials Engineer, you will oversee mix design development, conduct trial mixes, maintain documentation, and coordinate with production and site teams to deliver high-quality materials

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• Licensed Engineer is preferred, depending on jurisdiction.
• 3–5 years of experience in materials testing, mix design, and quality control of ready-mix concrete and asphalt.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, DPWH, or equivalent standards.
• Proficient in laboratory testing procedures and data interpretation.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• PRC licence as a Professional Engineer is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and approve concrete and asphalt mix designs based on project specs.
• Conduct trial mixes and optimize proportions for target strength and performance.
• Prepare and maintain JMF documentation and lab results.
• Implement and monitor the Quality Control Plan (QCP) for batching plant operations.
• Supervise sampling and testing of raw materials and finished products.
• Verify testing procedures follow standard methods (ASTM, AASHTO, DPWH, BS, etc.).
• Maintain calibration of lab and batching plant equipment.
• Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and site teams to ensure material quality.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports.
• Provide technical guidance to production based on test results.
