D & L Industries is seeking a Material Planner to coordinate material flow for production and translate the master production schedule into material requirements. You will ensure uninterrupted supply while minimizing inventory costs.

The Material Planner is responsible for coordinating the flow of materials to support production activities and inventory goals. This involves translating the master production schedule (MPS) into specific material requirements, generating purchase requisitions, and ensuring uninterrupted supply while minimizing inventory holding costs and material shortages.
Execute MRP: Run and analyze the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to determine the exact quantity and timing of materials needed for production
Create Purchase Requisition (PRS) for external suppliers based on MRP output and production schedules
Monitor material inventory levels against planning parameters (safety stock, min/max levels) and adjust order quantities to maintain optimal stock without risking obsolescence or stock‑outs
Coordinate with the Procurement team and suppliers to confirm delivery dates, late orders, cancellations, reschedule shipments as needed based on changes in the production schedule, and expedite critical orders to prevent production disruptions
Coordinate closely with Production Scheduling and Operations to understand manufacturing capacity, resolve material constraints, and adjust material delivery timelines accordingly
Continuously monitor and update material lead times in the planning system to ensure the accuracy of the MRP output
Ensure the integrity of critical material planning data within the MRP application model, including Bills of Material (BOMs), D365 On-Hand inventory, lead times, and MOQs
Generate periodic material consumption reports as required by the customer, and material checklist requests
Track and report on key supplier performance indicators, focusing on On‑Time Delivery (OTD) and quality compliance for materials in coordination with the Purchasing Department
Identify, communicate, and resolve immediate material shortages or quality issues that could impact the production line
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related analytical field
2-4 years of experience in material planning, production planning, or master scheduling, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Mandatory proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, D365)
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, pivot tables)
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, Bills of Material (BOMs), and inventory control methods
