The Strategic Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive business growth by generating qualified leads, increasing brand visibility, and providing data-driven insights that support company success and growth. This role serves as a strategic partner to the sales team by delivering marketing initiatives, market intelligence, SEO, digital campaigns, analytics, and sales enablement resources that improve pipeline quality and conversion rates. The position does not carry a sales quota or perform direct selling but plays a critical role in helping the organization achieve its revenue goals through strategic marketing.
1.1. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic marketing plans aligned with business objectives.
- Design and execute lead generation and demand generation campaigns.
- Optimize SEO (on-page, off-page, and technical) to improve organic visibility.
- Manage digital marketing initiatives, including email, social media, PPC, and content marketing.
- Analyze campaign performance and provide actionable recommendations using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, CRM dashboards, and BI platforms.
- Conduct market research, customer segmentation, and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the sales team to improve lead quality, conversion strategies, and customer targeting.
- Develop sales enablement materials, including presentations, case studies, product sheets, and competitive analyses.
- Manage marketing automation and CRM workflows to improve lead nurturing and tracking.
- Monitor marketing KPIs and prepare reports for management.
- Recommend new marketing technologies, channels, and initiatives to support business growth.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels.
- Design and run multi-channel lead generation campaigns across email, outbound prospecting, social media, SEO, and the company website.
- Build targeted prospect lists and manage outbound cadences in Apollo.io (or a comparable platform); qualified responses and booked meetings are handed to the Sales Manager for follow-up and closing.
- Plan and execute email marketing and automation programs in Zoho Marketing Plus.
- Score and prioritize leads to surface the strongest opportunities for the Sales Manager.
- Apply AI tools throughout the lead generation workflow — content, personalization, campaign optimization, and lightweight design or website updates — to scale output efficiently.
- Track lead volume, cost per lead, and conversion performance, and adjust channel mix and tactics based on results.
- Own day-to-day strategy and execution with minimal oversight; performance is evaluated on outcomes, not process.
2. Coordinates with Other Departments
Works closely with Sales, Business Development, IT, Client Operations, and Executive Management to align marketing initiatives with company priorities, share market intelligence, and ensure campaigns support overall business goals.
3. What Success Looks Like
- Qualified leads generated per month, by channel.
- Lead-to-opportunity conversion rate, tracked alongside cost per lead so quality is measured with volume.
- Pipeline dollars sourced from generated leads.
Performance is evaluated against these outcomes; the incumbent owns how they're achieved.
4. Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in demand generation, lead generation, or growth marketing, ideally within a B2B organization.
- Demonstrated success building and reporting on qualified pipeline for a sales team.
- Proficiency with marketing automation platforms (Zoho Marketing Plus or similar, e.g. HubSpot, Marketo, ActiveCampaign).
- Experience with sales engagement / outbound platforms (Apollo.io or similar, e.g. Outreach, Salesloft) for list-building and cadence management.
- Working knowledge of SEO and social-media-driven lead generation.
- Fluency with AI tools for content, personalization, campaign optimization, and lightweight design or website work.
- Strong written and spoken English; comfortable communicating asynchronously with a U.S.-based manager.
- A self-directed operator who takes ownership of a number the way a salesperson owns a quota, rather than waiting for direction.
5. Tools & Software
- Zoho Marketing Plus (or similar marketing automation platform).
- Apollo.io (or similar sales engagement/outbound platform).
- CRM experience (Zoho CRM or similar).
6. Reporting
This role reports directly to the Sales Manager within the Sales department.
