Job summary

MCTC is seeking a Purchasing Officer Assistant to streamline procurement, review requisitions, and coordinate with suppliers for vessels worldwide. This role supports timely deliveries and cost-effective sourcing while ensuring quality and compliance across the supply chain.

The ideal candidate will have culinary background, onboard chef experience, strong English communication, and solid MS Office proficiency to manage supplier reports and inventory processes.

Qualifications

• Culinary education required; onboard chef or chief cook experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and general computer literacy.
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong organization.

Responsibilities

• Inform fleets about complaints and discrepancies and coordinate with suppliers.
• Review vessel requisitions and issue inquiries for quotations.
• Place orders and arrange delivery to vessels at ports.
• Evaluate supplier offers using quality, price, and terms.
• Conduct onboard visits and prepare supplier performance reports.
• Assist with monthly inventory closing and vessel catering accounts.
• Perform other duties to support the department.
