Job summary

Focal Search Pte Ltd is seeking a procurement professional to generate purchase orders, monitor vessel schedules, and secure timely and economical supply of spare parts and stores for our operations.

You will evaluate suppliers on total landed cost, decide on transportation modes, process invoices, and maintain accurate PO statuses in the procurement system to support smooth onboard operations.

Qualifications

• Generate and create Purchase Orders for approved Requisitions.
• Monitor vessel schedules, coordinates forwarding matters and ensures timely and economical supply of spare parts and stores.
• Evaluate and improve supplier selection taking into account total landed cost mindset to deliver right goods at fastest and most economical way to minimize vessel running costs.
• Evaluate and decide on mode of transportation taking into account Total Landed Cost to deliver right goods at the fastest and most economical way and maximize rig up-time.
• Process invoices and update PO status in the procurement system for submission to the vessel manager.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure item availability and smooth operation onboard.
• Comply with company Purchasing Policy & Guidelines; order through contracted or preferred suppliers unless exceptional circumstances.
• Manage the buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems posing risk to business operations.

Job description

• Responsible for monitoring vessel schedules, coordinates forwarding matters and ensures timely and economical supply of spare parts and stores;
• Evaluate and improve supplier selection taking into account total landed cost mindset: deliver the right goods at the fastest and most economical way to ensure vessel daily running costs at minimum level without jeopardizing the operation
• Evaluate and decide on mode of transportation taking into account Total Landed Cost: deliver the right goods at the fastest and most economical way to help maintain vessel daily running costs at minimum level and rig up-time to the maximum.
• Shall ensure timely processing of invoices and updating of all PO status in the procurement system for submission to the vessel manager;
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure the availability of items and ensure smooth operation onboard the vessel.
• Responsible for monitoring vessel schedules, coordinates forwarding matters and ensures timely and economical supply of spare parts and stores.
• Purchaser shall comply with the company Purchasing Policy & Guidelines and shall order though contracted or preferred suppliers unless there are exceptional circumstances;
• Manage the buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
• Develop and maintain a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
