Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor the CRC’s computerized inventory system for all stock and special-ordered parts, ensuring physical inventory matches digital records.
- Track inventory trends and adjust part purchases in accordance with customer and operational needs.
- Collaborate with customers to assess their marine vessel requirements and recommend suitable parts and solutions.
- Check availability of components using computerized stock records, and keep all inventory data up to date.
- Conduct physical inventory audits at the end of each quarter and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, secure necessary approvals, and follow up on shipments to guarantee timely delivery.
- Organize and coordinate parts for offsite mechanics, ensuring efficient repair operations, and manage parts invoicing and receipt issuance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or in a related mechanical role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to professional and knowledgeable customer service.
- Familiarity with computerized inventory systems and parts tracking software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail when managing inventory and documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and recommend suitable marine parts based on vessel specifications and customer needs.
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or training in marine mechanics or a related field.
- Experience with CRC’s inventory system or similar inventory management software.
- Previous exposure to marine parts sales or service environments.
