Qualifications

• Minimum of four years successful supervisory experience in an operations environment or in a leadership role with direct reports.
• Refer to the Operations WTL Career Ladder for information on experience/skills requirements and typical supervisory responsibility.
• Ability to express ideas effectively (verbal and nonverbal) with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an assigned department to achieve operational objectives related to safety, product quality, reliability, cost, continuous improvement, and employee morale.
• Facilitate change using kaizen to improve capability, engage employees daily on problem solving with a shop floor focus.
• Motivate and involve employees in improving processes through creativity, problem solving, coaching, and standardized work.
• Create an operation that produces product to customer demand (takt time) using one-piece-flow.
• Ensure zero defects and partner with customer service and quality teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Recognize and provide feedback to high performers, conduct performance discussions, and manage safety and environmental goals.
• Maintain on-time delivery of quality products and uphold a safe working environment.
• Spend most time on the shop floor to observe status and gather input for improvements.
• Staffing and development: determine staffing levels and train employees to increase contribution.
• Perform additional responsibilities to achieve business objectives.
