Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd Philippines seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician specializing in machining, repair, and refurbishment of conveyor rollers, shafts, bushings, and machine parts using lathe machines and related tools. You will support preventive maintenance, equipment testing, and breakdown responses to ensure reliability and uptime.

You will work with a team of maintenance professionals, assist during installations, and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Mechanical Technology, Machining Technology, Industrial Technology, or related technical course.
• 3-5 years relevant experience in machining and mechanical maintenance.
• TESDA Certificate for machining is preferred.
• Experience operating a lathe machine and repairing conveyor components is an advantage.
• Willing to work shifting schedules and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Machining & Mechanical Repair: operate lathe machines for repair and fabrication of parts.
• Repair and refurbish conveyor rollers, shafts, bushings, spacers, pins, sleeves, and components.
• Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, grinding, and related machining tasks.
• Measure parts with vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to spec.
• Assist PM activities, breakdown response, installation, and commissioning.
• Provide manpower and technical support to other maintenance technicians.
• Follow safety procedures, PPE, and housekeeping in machining areas.

Job description

Responsible for performing machining, repair, refurbishment, fabrication, preventive maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment and mechanical components. The technician will specialize in the repair and machining of conveyor rollers, shafts, bushings, and other machine parts using a lathe machine and related tools.

The technician will also provide hands‑on support to other maintenance technicians during preventive maintenance (PM), equipment testing, breakdown response, installation, repair, and other maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and operational availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Machining & Mechanical Repair
• Operate lathe machines and other machining equipment for repair and fabrication of mechanical parts.
• Repair and refurbish conveyor rollers, shafts, bushings, spacers, pins, sleeves, and other components.
• Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, grinding, and other machining activities.
• Measure parts using vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision tools.
• Ensure machined components meet required dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Perform mechanical fabrication and modification as required.

Assist in restoring damaged or worn machine components to serviceable condition.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Assist other technicians in conducting scheduled PM activities on conveyors, sorting machines, motors, gearboxes, sensors, and other equipment.
• Perform inspection, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, tightening, and replacement of machine components.
• Support breakdown troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities.
• Assist with equipment installation, modification, alignment, and commissioning.

Equipment Testing & Troubleshooting

• Assist in equipment testing after repair or PM to verify proper operation.
• Conduct functional checks of mechanical and electrical equipment as directed.
• Observe equipment during test runs and report abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, alignment, or operating conditions.
• Support technicians and engineers in identifying equipment abnormalities and recurring failures.

Team Support

• Provide manpower and technical support to other maintenance technicians during daily maintenance activities.
• Assist during urgent breakdowns and operational support requirements.
• Work collaboratively with technicians, team leads, planners, engineers, and Operations.
• Share machining and mechanical knowledge with other technicians when applicable.
• Perform other maintenance-related tasks assigned by the Maintenance Engineer or Supervisor.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, LOTO, and machine safety practices.
• Ensure safe operation of the lathe and other machining equipment.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in the machining and maintenance areas.
• Inspect tools and equipment before use and report unsafe conditions.
• Properly store and maintain machining tools, equipment, and spare parts.

Requirements

• Graduate of Mechanical Technology, Machining Technology, Industrial Technology, or related technical course.
• At least 3-5 years relevant experience
• Tesda Certificate for machining
• Experience operating a lathe machine and performing basic machining.
• Experience in roller, shaft, bearing, bushing, and conveyor repair is an advantage.
• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and industrial equipment.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Basic welding, grinding, drilling, and fabrication skills are an advantage.
• Willing to perform general maintenance activities and support other technicians.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, overtime, and during equipment breakdowns when required.
• Willing to be assigned in Paciano, Calamba Laguna
