Job summary

SPX Express is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician specialized in machining and mechanical repair to service conveyors and machine components in our facility. The role focuses on operating lathe machines, performing turning, drilling, grinding, and inspection to ensure components meet specs.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on experience, a TESDA machining certificate, and ability to work shifting schedules in Calamba Laguna area.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Mechanical Technology, Machining Technology, Industrial Technology, or related technical course.
• At least 3–5 years relevant experience
• TESDA Certificate for machining
• Experience operating a lathe machine and performing basic machining.
• Experience in roller, shaft, bearing, bushing, and conveyor repair is an advantage.
• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and industrial equipment.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Basic welding, grinding, drilling, and fabrication skills are an advantage.
• Willing to perform general maintenance activities and support other technicians.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, overtime, and during equipment breakdowns when required.
• Willing to be assigned in Paciano, Calamba Laguna

Responsibilities

• Machining & mechanical repair of conveyor components.
• Operate lathe machines and other machining equipment for repair and fabrication of mechanical parts.
• Repair and refurbish conveyor rollers, shafts, bushings, spacers, pins, sleeves, and other components.
• Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, grinding, and other machining activities.
• Measure parts using precision tools to ensure tolerance.
• Assist in restoring damaged or worn machine components to serviceable condition.
• Assist other technicians in PM activities on conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and sensors.
• Support breakdown troubleshooting and installation activities.
• Conduct functional checks after repair or PM to verify operation.
• Provide manpower and technical support to other maintenance technicians during daily activities.
• Share machining knowledge with other technicians when applicable.
• Perform other maintenance-related tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Engineer or Supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain housekeeping in machining areas.
