The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. The position plans and oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshoots equipment failures, and supports the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations, particularly EV-related production and automated systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation-related equipment failures.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring issues to determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend solutions to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Support the installation, commissioning, testing, and validation of new production equipment and manufacturing systems.
- Assist in maintaining EV manufacturing equipment, including battery assembly systems, electric motor production equipment, automated assembly lines, and charging system test equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain high-voltage electrical systems, battery assembly equipment, charging systems, and power distribution systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, work orders, and spare parts inventory.
- Coordinate with external contractors, service providers, and equipment suppliers for specialized maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
- Monitor maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety procedures, engineering standards, and company policies.
- Prepare maintenance reports and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, downtime, and maintenance efficiency.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance processes, equipment performance, and production reliability.
- Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials.
- Perform other maintenance engineering-related duties as may be assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Educational Attainment
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent engineering licensure/certification, where applicable, is preferred.
- Additional training or certification in industrial automation, electrical systems, EV technology, battery systems, or maintenance engineering is an advantage.
Work Experience
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in the electric vehicle (EV), automotive, battery manufacturing, electronics, industrial manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of automated production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems.
- Experience with high-voltage electrical systems, battery assembly equipment, charging systems, or power distribution systems is an advantage.
- Experience in equipment commissioning, installation, testing, and validation is preferred.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, production equipment, and maintenance systems.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Proficient in equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, control systems, and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems and equipment documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic maintenance reporting and data analysis.
- Knowledge of EV manufacturing, battery systems, and high-voltage safety is an advantage.
