Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified candidate for a Hybrid mainframe development position based in Taguig City, Philippines. The ideal candidate should have 3-17 years of experience in mainframe development along with strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.

Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining applications, providing guidance to junior developers, and ensuring successful project delivery. The role also requires excellent problem-solving skills and knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Qualifications

• 3-17 years of experience in mainframe development.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, Assembler, JCL, CICS, DB2.
• Experience working with mainframe systems such as z/05, IMS, and VSAM.

COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS (non-negotiable) - The client expects candidates to have strong proficiency in CICS as well as the other listed technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications and systems using COBOL, Assembler, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other programming languages and tools
• Design and implement solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers
• Collaborate with other teams, including business analysts, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure successful project delivery
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities
• Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe development

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Information Technology, or a related field
• 3-17 years of experience in mainframe development
• strong knowledge of COBOL, Assembler, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe programming languages and tools
• Experience working with mainframe systems such as z/05, IMS, and VSAM
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus
• Experience in the banking industry is preferred
