Job summary

ATOS Information Technology Inc. in Manila is seeking a Mainframe Developer to build, test, maintain, and support critical mainframe applications. You will work with COBOL, DB2, JCL, and IMS DB/DC to deliver stable solutions and resolve production issues.

The role requires 4–5 years of hands-on mainframe experience, strong testing and data validation skills, and a proven ability to collaborate with business and technical teams to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

• 4–5 yrs of experience in mainframe development, testing, or application support.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, and IMS DB/DC.
• Good knowledge of SQL queries and database validation activities.
• Strong experience in test data identification, data mining, and database validation.
• Experience in production support, incident management, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• Knowledge of mainframe tools and environments.
• Ability to create and execute test scenarios, test cases, and supporting test documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and IMS DB/DC.
• Provide Level 2 application and production support for business-critical mainframe systems.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and effective test cases.
• Design, review, and execute test scenarios and test cases to validate application changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, batch processing, database, and production issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Support test data identification, data mining, and validation using database queries.
• Coordinate with onsite, offshore, operations, and business teams to meet delivery timelines, support targets, and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Experience supporting applications in insurance, banking, or other mainframe-heavy business environments.

Other Notes

• Candidate must be able to support Pacific Time working hours as required by the project.
• Role may require participation in on-call support for high-priority production incidents.
• Final assignment may involve development, testing, production support, or a combination of these activities depending on project needs.
