Job summary

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mainframe Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support mission-critical applications running on IBM Mainframe systems. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical design and program specifications.

• Perform coding, unit testing, system testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.

• Work on batch job scheduling, monitoring, and optimization (e.g., Control-M / CA7).

• Work on Online processing.

• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and documentation guidelines.

• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other stakeholders.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Support system integration and deployment activities.

• Maintain system documentation and technical specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM

• Strong experience with CICS and online transaction processing

• Good understanding of mainframe architecture and batch processing

• Experience in SQL and database design (DB2 preferred)

• Knowledge of job scheduling tools like Control-M, CA7, or equivalent

• Familiarity with version control tools and change management processes

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Mainframe modernization or migration projects

• Knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodology

• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance domain

• Familiarity with tools like Endevor, Changeman, or ISPW

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field

• Equivalent work experience may also be considered
