Job summary

The role requires 1–3 years in logistics or dispatch, a relevant degree, and strong communication and MS Office skills.

About the role

The Logistics Coordinator oversees fleet operations and the efficient movement and distribution of goods, coordinates transportation, warehousing and delivery activities to help ensure goods easily move from their origins to their destinations, and arrive on time while maintaining cost controls. Coordinates and collaborates with internal and external partners and contributes to the overall customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Books and schedules vehicles and trucks to transport products from ports to warehouses or clients

• Coordinates with third-party trucking providers, negotiate freight rates, and build good working relationships with transport operators

• Monitors daily truck deployments, track shipments in real time, and ensure drivers arrive at ports and warehouses on schedule

• Implement and enforce strict codes of conduct regarding driver behavior, speed limits, and rest stops

• Prepares and processes crucial shipping and transport papers, including gate passes, delivery receipts, and hauling orders

• Addresses trucking problems quickly, such as vehicle breakdowns, driver shortages, traffic delays, incidents, and accidents

• Records hauling expenses, check trucking billing statements against delivered trips, and report on transport efficiency

• Lead investigations into driver misconduct, transit delays, fuel fraud, or delivery discrepancies

• Managing fuel consumption patterns across the fleet to identify inefficiencies or unauthorized usage

• Maintain compliance with national transport regulations, limits for cargo, and safety standards

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field

• 1 to 3 years of experience in logistics, transport operations, or dispatching, ideally within food, agriculture, or freight forwarding

• Strong familiarity with local trucking routes, transport regulations, truck ban schedules, and container hauling procedures

• Excellent phone and messaging skills to coordinate constantly with drivers, brokers, and warehouse staff

• Excellent customer service skills to negotiate and communicate with collaborators

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to stay calm and make fast decisions when transport delays happen
