Job summary

Cathay Pacific Airways is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to supervise line maintenance operations at allocated station(s) and uphold safety and reliability standards. The role drives operational excellence, leadership, and collaboration with engineering teams and third-party suppliers.

Responsibilities include supervising shifts, managing daily engineering operations, certifying maintenance, developing staff, and ensuring safe practices while supporting Cathay’s commitment to safety

Qualifications

Diploma in a relevant field is required.
Aircraft Maintenance Licence (HKCAD or equivalent) with aircraft type endorsement.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as certifying engineer or equivalent.
Solid operational and technical knowledge.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership and management qualities.

Responsibilities

Supervise the shift to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operation.
Manage day-to-day engineering operations.
Oversee third-party supplier performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling).
Supervise and certify aircraft maintenance.
Coordinate with other teams to ensure safe and reliable travel experience.
Develop employees with high potential and plan training/development.
Ensure safe working practices and investigate accidents.
Lead by example in line with Cathay’s core values.
