Job summary

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager within the Engineering’s Line Maintenance function to oversee safe and reliable maintenance operations across allocated stations.

The role focuses on leading a high-performance team, managing third-party providers, and ensuring compliance with HKCAD licensing and Cathay's safety standards. A Diploma and an HKCAD licence with a relevant endorsement are required for candidacy.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a relevant field is required.
• Aircraft Maintenance Licence (HKCAD or equivalent) with appropriate aircraft type endorsement.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience of aircraft engineering as certifying Engineer or equivalent.
• Solid operational and technical knowledge.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated management and leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the shift to deliver a safe, efficient operation.
• Manage day-to-day engineering operations.
• Oversee third-party supplier performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling etc.) as the Operational Duty Holder.
• Supervise and certify aircraft maintenance.
• Coordinate with other operational teams to ensure delivery of a safe and reliable travel experience.
• Support the Engineering Manager on developing employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities.
• Ensure safe working practices are applied and that all accidents are investigated and reported.
• Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values.
